Pallivasal Falls |
Pallivasal in Munnar, Kerala, is one of the most popular and prime tourist destinations in the area. A famous attraction in the town is the Pallivasal Falls, which is a must see when in the area. CSI Christ Church |
The old CSI Christ Church is the headquarters of the CSI Munnar Pastorate with over thousand Tamil families and 18 outstation churches. The church, counted amongst the most revered sites in Munnar, was built in AD 1910 by the British. This holy site is popular for its exquisite stained glass windows. Besides, it has engraved brass plaques that were made in the memory of the tea planters. The site of the church was formally consecrated by Rt. Rev. Noel Hodges on 15th April 1900 on the occasion of Easter. The church’s foundation stone was laid in March 1910 by Sir A.K. Muir and inaugurated on 16th April 1911 by Rev. W.F.B Hoysted, the then priest. When the British left Munnar in 1981, they handed over the charge of the church to CSI North Kerala Diocese.

Blossom Hydel Park |
Blossom Hydel Park is a popular tourist attraction of the sylvan hill resort of Munnar. Blossom Hydel Park, which is about 3 km away from Munnar town, is situated towards the old Munnar. This Hydel Park is located nearby the banks of River Muthirappuzha and the misty Kannan Devan Hill Tea Estates. Blossom Hydel Park has a vast stretch of landscaped mounts, gardens, artificial waterfalls & lawns in its sprawling 16 acres of lush green land. Facilities for adventure trails, boating, nature walks, bird watching, roller skating, badminton, etc. are provided at this Hydel Park to its visitors.

Thoovanam falls |
At a distance of 50 Kms from Munnar and 10 Kms from Marayoor, Thoovanam waterfalls are one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Kerala. It is located inside Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary near Kerala - Tamil Nadu boarder. This is one of the best among Munnar places to visit and also a popular trekking trail in Munnar. The falls are formed by Pambar River. At a distance of 4 Kms from Alampetty Junction Checkpost on Munnar - Udamalpet Road, Thoovanam waterfalls is also a popular trekking route in Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. This cascading falls is a wonderful place to enjoy the nature, dip & swim in the crystal clear water of Pambar River. The waterfall has to be reached by 4 Kms trek from Alampetty Checkpost, which is situated on Munnar - Udalampet highway and connected by buses from Munnar. The Thoovanam waterfalls trip is a guided trek (forest guides must be accompanied) and usually takes 2-3 hours from the checkpost. The trek is arranged between 7 AM to 10 AM and 3 PM to 6 PM. This is a moderate level trek through dense forest amidst serene environment. The trek to the falls also provide a great opportunity for animal sighting. Thoovanam falls one of the best waterfalls in Kerala. Accommodation is available inside the sanctuary in Forest guesthouse, Treetop houses and log houses. Accommodation can be booked in advance (The Wildlife Warden, Munnar, Ph: 04865-231587) or from the forest office at the sanctuary entrance. Dormitory is also available.
