Jhari Falls/Buttermilk Falls/Dabdabe Falls Chikmagalur - One Stop Destination:

​Jhari Waterfalls, also known as Buttermilk Falls or Dabdabe Falls. Most mesmerising beautiful steep waterfalls located near Attigundi in Chikmagalur District of Karnataka in a distance of 22 Kms from Chikmagalur towards Baba Budangiri/Datta Peeta Road, one of the popular falls and the best tourist place in Chikmagalur. Its a beautiful waterfall surrounded by dense forest. Water flows from a height of about 40 feet, falls is situated inside coffee estate and road is rough and narrow about 2 km from the main road, hence private vehicles are not allowed inside coffee plantation. Jeeps can be hired at main road to reach the falls, it would be an adventures off road ride to reach down. This waterfall is formed naturally and which flows through out the year, travelers can get into water and enjoy. The falls is at its best in monsoon and post monsoon seasons. The best time to visit Jhari Falls is from August to January while the peak season is from September to December. Jhari Falls is one of the must visit place in Chikmagalur.

Visitng timings: 8AM - 5PM.
Jeep ride will cost 600-800 depending on season and number of people.
Better to carry a towel or extra pair of clothes for Mens and kids (there are no restrooms or changing rooms), if you would like to get into water.
Cell phones/Camera can be carried but there is no provision for depositing the same if every body would like to get into water from the group.
There is also a small shop just near the falls selling Coffee/Tea and quick eatables, so better to carry some cash while going down if would like to have something after playing in water.
Liquor, plastics and smoking not allowed.
