Bhagamandala |
Bhagamandala is a pilgrimage place in Kodagu. It is situated on the river Kaveri in its upstream stretches. Bhagamandala is on the banks of the confluence of three rivers, Cauvery, Kannike and the sub terrain Sujyoti, popularly known as "Triveni Sangama". It is a common practice for pilgrims to take a dip in the triveni sangama and perform rituals to their ancestors before proceeding to Talakaveri, the birthplace of Kaveri. During Tula Sankramana which falls on October 17th or 18th every year, pilgrims assemble here in large numbers. Located about 38 km from the district headquarters Madikeri and is connected from Madikeri, Virajpet and nearby places in Kerala. Government and private buses are available on all of these routes.

Mallalli Falls |
Located in the foothills of Pushpagiri, around 25 km from Somwarpet in the Western Ghats region of Kodagu District in Karnataka. Here Kumaradhara river falls from over 200 feet at two stages to form Mallallai falls. The view from here is spectacular with lush green mountains around and steep valleys. Pushpagiri also known as Kumaraparvata in its backdrop is a truly breathtaking sight.
The best time to visit is during the monsoon that is July through December where there is plenty of water in the river. During the rainy season the trees are really lush green which gives a natural beauty to the falls. |
Brahmagiri Hills |
Brahmagiri, is a mountain range in the Western Ghats of south India. It is situated on the border between Kodagu district in Karnataka state in the north and Wayanad district of Kerala state on the south . Brahmagiri Hill, at 1608 m height, is a scenic tourist attraction. The top of Brahmagiri Hill is well forested and has a lot of wildlife.
Thirunelli Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, lies on the Kerala side of Brahmagiri. This temple is known as Dakshina Kasi or the Kasi of the South. The temple was constructed in an ancient style and includes 30 granite pillars. According to legend, the temple was constructed by Lord Brahma himself. |
Harangi Backwaters |
The Harangi Reservoir is located near Hudgur village, Somwarpet taluk in Kodagu district in the Indian state of Karnataka.[1] The reservoir is formed by a masonry dam built across the river Harangi, a tributary of the Kaveri.[1][2] The dam is located about 9 km away from the heart of Kushalnagar town.
The Harangi originates in the Pushpagiri Hills of Western Ghats in Kodagu, Karnataka.[2] Heavy rainfall from the south-west monsoon is the source of water in the catchment area of Harangi river which is about 717 km2.[2] The length of the Harangi from its origin to the confluence with the Kaveri river is 50 km.[2] The Harangi joins the Kaveri near Kudige in Somwarpet taluk. |

Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most important bird santuries of the world. It is located in the State of Karnataka. The sanctuary is in the Kogadu (Coorg) district in Somwarpet taluk. This wildlife sanctuary is one of the 21 well-known wildlife sanctuaries in the State of Karnataka, it holds importance because it is home to endangered and very rare species of birds.
The wildlife sanctuary lies at a distance of only 287 kms from Bangalore and is spread across an area of 102 kms. Established in 1987, the wildlife sanctuary has been proposed as one of the World Heritage Sites |
